What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant had not paid rent from June 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, and the Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective July 1, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 15, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $7,295.54 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $34.61 per day in compensation starting January 8, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant can void the eviction order by paying $8,205.53 on or before January 31, 2021, or $9,258.26 after January 31, 2021 but on or before February 15, 2021.
