What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Tenant Jeffrey Lamothe and for compensation for the use of the rental unit by Unauthorized Occupant Mike Jackson, who the Tenant had allowed to occupy the unit without the Landlord's authorization.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of June 6, 2020. The Unauthorized Occupant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,959.30 for use of the unit from June 7, 2020 to July 21, 2020, and $190 for the cost of filing the application. If the Unauthorized Occupant does not pay the full amount by April 24, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
