What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 31, 2021, but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from September 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,379.51, which includes rent arrears up to December 31, 2021, and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Landlord does not pay the Tenant the full amount owing on or before October 9, 2022, the Landlord will start to owe interest.
