What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed and owed $1,880.60 in rent for the period from August 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020. The parties had signed an Agreement to End the Tenancy (form N11) in which they agreed the tenancy would end on January 31, 2020, and the Tenants moved out on that date.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $963.25, which represents the remaining rent owed up to January 31, 2020, as well as the $190 application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by March 8, 2021, the Tenants will start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
