What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because they, another occupant of the rental unit or a person the Tenants permitted in the residential complex have seriously impaired the safety of any person.

The ruling

During the 12-month period from February 9, 2021 to February 9, 2022, the Tenants shall not remove, tamper or remove the batteries from the smoke alarm detectors in their rental unit, and shall refrain from smoking in the common areas of the residential complex outside of their rental unit. If the Tenants fail to comply with the conditions, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants.
