What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 20, 2023. The Tenants must vacate the unit by this date. The Landlord's compensation of $3,000 will be applied to the rent for March 21, 2023 to April 20, 2023. Tenants must pay $3,000 for use of the unit from April 21, 2023 to May 20, 2023. If Tenants do not vacate by May 20, 2023, they must pay $98.63 per day until they move out.
