What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for personal use. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2022, due to the Landlord's good faith requirement of the unit for personal use. The Tenant must pay $5,128.50 for use of the unit from November 1, 2021, to January 17, 2022, plus $65.75 per day until move-out. The Tenant must vacate by March 31, 2022, or face eviction by the Sheriff starting April 1, 2022.
