What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant did not pay the total rent owed from November 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021, and the Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective March 26, 2021. The Landlord attempted to resolve the rent arrears with the Tenant, but the Tenant did not respond.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 26, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $9,751.61 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $186 in application fees, and $30.41 per day in compensation starting September 16, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant pays $10,361 on or before September 26, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
