What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and for other reasons such as serious impairment of safety, undue damage, and substantial interference. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective July 8, 2021, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $9,712.59 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date, compensation, and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by October 2, 2021, they will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
