What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 14, 2022, but was in possession when the application was filed. Tenant failed to pay rent for the period from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,792.52, which includes rent arrears up to June 14, 2022, and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owed. If not paid by January 30, 2023, interest will be charged at 5.00% annually on the outstanding balance from January 31, 2023.
