What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed, but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from April 1, 2020 to April 8, 2020.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $280.00, which represents the amount of rent owing up to April 30, 2020, and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by January 17, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest calculated at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
