What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant failed to give proper notice to terminate the tenancy and vacated the rental unit without notice.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant was terminated on September 30, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,297.85, which represents the amount of rent owing up to September 30, 2020, less the last month's rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by March 6, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
