What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 30, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from March 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,597.89, which includes rent arrears up to June 30, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owed to the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 29, 2023, they will start owing interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
