What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after a mediated settlement was reached in a previous application, which required the Tenants to pay rent or arrears, but they failed to do so.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2022, and the Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $3,637.83 in rent arrears and application fees, plus $37.50 per day for use of the unit starting February 2, 2022. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 31, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
