What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord had previously obtained an order on January 13, 2021, but the Tenant did not meet the terms of that order, so the Landlord requested to reopen the application. The Landlord's request to reopen was granted, and the original order was cancelled.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 6, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,455.32, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $20.91 per day for each day of occupation starting August 27, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant wishes to void the order and continue the tenancy, the Tenant must pay $5,373 by August 31, 2021 or $6,009 by September 6, 2021.
