What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to them negligently causing undue damage to the premises, specifically the bedroom window frames. The Landlord also applied for an order requiring the Tenants to compensate the Landlord for the damage.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $1,000 for the reasonable costs of replacing the damaged window frames/trim, and $175 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by April 30, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
