What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date and pay the Landlords $7,986, which includes $7,800 in rent arrears and the $186 application fee. If the Tenants do not pay by April 30, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting May 1, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by April 30, 2022, the Landlords may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
