What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit in order to demolish it. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 3, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date. If not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for eviction enforcement starting April 4, 2023. The eviction order expires on October 4, 2023, if not filed with the Court Enforcement Office.
