What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards.
The ruling
The Landlord is ordered to: 1) Retain a qualified exterminator to inspect the premises and conduct any extermination activities found necessary; 2) Ensure the stove and fridge are in proper working order; 3) Remove the insulation from the basement; 4) Ensure the laundry facilities, carpets, windowsills and vents are clean; and 5) Ensure the sink and bathtub drains are clear. The Landlord shall also pay the Tenants the $45.00 filing fee.
