What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant is a front-line worker whose income was reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to rent arrears. The parties reached an agreement on a repayment plan for the arrears.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,079.00, the total amount owing representing rent arrears and costs, upon a repayment plan. If the Tenant fails to make any of the payments in full and on time, the Landlord shall be entitled to apply to the Board for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant, and for any arrears that have become due after the date of this Order.
