What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to undue damage to the premises, the Landlord's agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit, and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord no longer sought an order for termination as the Tenants had already vacated the unit.

The ruling

The Landlord's application to terminate the tenancy is withdrawn as the Tenants had already vacated the unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,828.18 for the cost of repairing damage caused by them or those they permitted in the unit, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 23, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
