What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay compensation for the money the Tenant should have paid had the Tenant not misrepresented the Tenant's income or the income of a member of the Tenant's family. The Tenant was a former superintendent whose employment was terminated, and as a result, the Tenant was no longer permitted to live in the rental unit. The Landlord also provided evidence of domestic violence between the new superintendent and the Tenant, as well as damage to the rental unit.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated effective September 26, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before September 26, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 26, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at a rate of 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
