What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant damaging the bathroom sink and altering the plumbing, causing water to leak into the unit below, as well as committing illegal acts and seriously impairing the safety of others in the residential complex.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 3, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $10,027.42, which includes compensation for use and occupation of the unit, the cost of filing the application, and the reasonable costs to repair the damage caused by the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 3, 2023, the Tenant will start owing interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
