What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The main issue concerned interference and inconvenience experienced by Tenants due to ongoing repairs and replacement of the only elevator in the six-floor residential complex.

The ruling

The Tenants' application for rent abatement due to elevator maintenance issues was dismissed.
