What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective July 7, 2021, due to rent arrears. The Tenants had not paid the total rent required from April 1, 2020, to October 31, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 18, 2022, unless Tenants void the order by paying $11,386.00 to the Landlord or Board in trust by that date. Tenants must pay $9,202.80 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 7, 2022, plus $36.16 per day from January 8, 2022, until they move out. Tenants must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by January 18, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 19, 2022.
