What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on June 15, 2021 with respect to application SOL-17960-20. The Tenants did not pay the $586.25 on or before August 1, 2021, nor did they pay the lawful rent for August also due on or before August 1, 2021.
The ruling
The previous order SOL-17960-20 is cancelled. The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated, and the Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before September 4, 2021. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $7,189.35, which represents the rent owing up to August 24, 2021 and the costs related to the application fee for the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $31.96 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting August 25, 2021 to the date the Tenants move out of the unit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing on or before September 4, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
