What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous consent order. The Tenant failed to pay the full rent for November 2021 and $500 towards arrears by the due date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 21, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,926.05, which includes rent arrears and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $35.34 per day from December 1, 2021 until the unit is vacated. If the full amount is not paid by December 21, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
