What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's lack of normal housekeeping standards, which has substantially interfered with another Tenant's or the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment of the residential complex and/or lawful rights, privileges, or interests.

The ruling

The Adjudicator granted conditional relief, ordering the Tenant to restore the rental unit to a state of ordinary cleanliness by December 15, 2021 and maintain it for a continuous period of 6 months. If the Tenant breaches the order, the Landlord may apply to the Board for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant was also ordered to pay the Landlord the filing fee of $186 by December 10, 2021, with interest accruing on any outstanding balance.
