What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant was an Assistant Superintendent who became ill and could no longer perform her duties. The Landlord began charging rent during the Tenant's unpaid leave of absence. The Tenant resigned and vacated the unit before the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated as of January 29, 2022, when the Tenant vacated. The Tenant is ordered to pay $3,712.52 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears from October 18, 2021, to January 29, 2022 (minus 7 days after employment termination) and the application filing fee.
