What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because they require possession of the rental unit for residential occupation by their son for at least one year. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2023. The Landlords' application for personal use of the rental unit by their son is granted. The Tenant must vacate by April 30, 2023, or face eviction by the Sheriff starting May 1, 2023. The Landlords owe the Tenant $1,796.01 for the rent deposit and interest, but may deduct $55.73 per day from March 8, 2023, until the Tenant moves out.
