What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant paid $300 after the application was filed, but still owed significant arrears. The Landlord tried to work with the Tenant to resolve the arrears, but the Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 26, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $17,342.88 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $70.27 per day starting September 16, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant pays $17,361 by September 26, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
