What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant has not paid the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from March 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective October 4, 2019 due to the arrears. The Tenant paid $150 after the application was filed. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 19, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant terminated on June 19, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $7,543.59 in rent arrears and $175 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 17, 2021, the Tenant will start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
