What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord also claimed administration charges related to NSF cheques.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,062.45, which includes rent arrears up to December 3, 2020 and administration charges for NSF cheques, less the $3,680.00 the Tenant paid after the application was filed. The Tenant must also pay $18.25 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting December 4, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 31, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest starting February 1, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by January 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
