What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after a mediated settlement was reached in a previous application (TSL-10682-19), which required the Tenant to pay certain amounts by specific dates. The Tenant failed to meet the conditions of the settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 7, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,241 in rent arrears, plus $3.78 per day in compensation starting August 28, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the full amount is not paid by September 7, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
