What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The parties agreed that the tenancy terminated effective November 10, 2022 and the amount of rental arrears is more than the monetary jurisdiction of the Landlord and Tenant Board of $35,000.00.

The ruling

The parties agreed that the tenancy terminated effective November 10, 2022 and the amount of rental arrears is more than the monetary jurisdiction of the Landlord and Tenant Board of $35,000.00. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $35,000.00 in arrears, with a payment schedule of $1,000.00 per month from May 1, 2023 to September 1, 2023, and a final payment of $30,000.00 on September 29, 2023. If the Tenant defaults on any of the payments, the outstanding balance will become due and the Tenant will start to owe interest.
