What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord or another tenant. The Tenant repeatedly denied access for pest control treatments and the unit was reported to have a severe cockroach infestation and dog urine odor.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 24, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date or face eviction by the Sheriff. The Tenant is ordered to pay $29.07 per day from August 24, 2022, until move-out, plus $186.00 for the application filing fee. Interest will accrue on any unpaid balance after September 24, 2022, at 3.00% annually.
