What happened
Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlord entered the rental unit illegally and substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit. The parties agreed that the only date in dispute of an illegal entry by the Landlord was March 15, 2020, and that a $500 rent abatement was provided to the Tenant on March 31, 2020 in exchange for vacant possession.
The ruling
The Landlord shall return the Tenant's last month rent deposit of $1,125.00 plus $10.31 interest, and the $100.00 key deposit. The Landlord shall also pay the Tenant $50.00 for the costs of filing the application, for a total of $1,285.31 to be paid by October 10, 2020.
