What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants raised several issues under section 82 of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, including flooding, use of loft space, entry by Landlord's agents, hot water tank rental, and lawn maintenance and snow removal.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective September 30, 2020, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $6,431.98 to the Landlords, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
