What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to their installation of a makeshift kitchen in the basement with numerous electrical appliances, which posed a serious fire risk, and for causing willful damage to the rental unit.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenants must vacate the rental unit by August 25, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $201 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 25, 2020, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting August 26, 2020. If the unit is not vacated by August 25, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction.
