What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant contested the rent increase, claiming she did not receive proper notice, and argued the last month's rent deposit interest had not been paid. The Landlord provided evidence to the contrary, and the Tenant failed to submit any evidence to support her claims.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective August 28, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay $232.46 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
