What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants had vacated the rental unit on September 8, 2022, prior to the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy will be terminated on May 31, 2021 unless the Tenants pay $7,421.16 to void the eviction order and continue the tenancy. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by May 23, 2021, they will owe interest on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by May 31, 2021, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
