What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The Landlord requested a review of the original order.

The ruling

The Landlord shall pay the Tenant a rent abatement of $250.00 and $45.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $295.00. If the Landlord does not pay the full amount by September 30, 2014, the Tenant may deduct the amount from the October 2014 rent and the Landlord will owe interest.
