What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by the Landlord's son.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 31, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $3,315.83 in compensation for use of the unit from August 12 to September 29, 2021, and $67.67 per day from September 30, 2021 until the date they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by October 10, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
