What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective October 11, 2021, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $9,200 in rent arrears and $201 in application costs to the Landlords, for a total of $9,401, by November 20, 2021. If the full amount is not paid by the due date, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
