What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. Tenant had not paid any rent since July 2021, accumulating substantial arrears. Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 29, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date or pay $27.95 per day for continued occupancy. The Tenant owes $5,286.00 to the Landlord, including rent arrears and application fee. If not paid by January 29, 2022, interest will accrue at 2.00% annually. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 30, 2022.
