What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants were not present or represented at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 2, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $8,628.31, which represents compensation for use of the unit from January 1, 2021 to July 22, 2021, less the rent deposit. The Tenants must also pay $50.19 per day for use of the unit from July 23, 2021 until they move out, as well as the $186 application fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 2, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
