What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay owed rent. Landlord served a valid N4 Notice, which Tenant did not void by paying arrears. Tenant was not present at the hearing. Landlord sold the rental unit on June 30, 2022, and rent arrears were calculated up to that date.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $2,628.00, which includes rent arrears up to June 30, 2022, and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 27, 2023, interest will start accruing at 5.00% annually on the outstanding balance from January 28, 2023.
