What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and because the landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The L2 application is dismissed. The tenancy is terminated effective August 31, 2021. The tenant must pay $3,000 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $49.32 per day from September 1, 2021 until move-out. If the full amount is not paid by September 11, 2021, the tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
