The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 8, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $1,696.47, which includes rent arrears up to July 28, 2021 and the Landlord's filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenants must also pay $39.93 per day in compensation for use of the unit from July 29, 2021 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by August 8, 2021, the Tenants will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
