The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 31, 2021, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $3,361.12, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and NSF cheque charges, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay the $186.00 application fee. If the full amount is not paid by August 22, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
